At Boomerang, everything we do begins with setting the end goal. At the project onset, time is spent deciding how the success of a project’s ROI will be measured.
The online space demands real time metrics. Beyond numbers, we choose metrics that are actionable and that support monitoring, revising and driving an initiative towards the ultimate goal of a positive ROI. Boomerang categorizes metrics in two ways – Operational Metrics (short run) and Strategic Metrics (long run).
Operational Metrics
We create a dashboard that gauges how well the initiative is performing against such indicators as acquisition, conversion and retention. All of the metrics we’re watching have established success levels. If a dashboard metric is not exceeding the established hurdle rate, Boomerang digs in and analyzes why, and then quickly makes a recommendation for what to improve to get the program back on track.
Strategic Metrics
The success of achieving the long run Strategic Metrics is predicated on closely monitoring and making thoughtful improvements indicated by the Operational Metrics dashboard. Developing an actionable dashboard and providing quick, thoughtful analysis with targeted recommendations are strengths that Boomerang is committed to providing.
